Level 2 Therapeutic Fostering Qualification (TFQ)
Level 2 Award in Therapeutic Fostering Qualification.
The Therapeutic Fostering qualification is aimed at foster parents and supporting professionals who work within the agency and who support looked-after children who have suffered early life trauma through pre or postnatal stress, neglect, domestic violence, and/or abuse. It is used alongside the Therapeutic Fostering Assessment. (TFA)
This customised qualification is accredited by the Nationally Recognised Awarding Body NCFE CACHE, once completed learners will receive a certificate from CACHE.
Not only will parents be able to learn and put into practice Therapeutic Parenting strategies, which will help them to develop a trusting relationship with their child, but they will also gain certification for our Level 2 Award in Therapeutic Fostering which is accredited by CACHE.
The qualification is mapped into TSD (England) and AWIF (Wales) requirements which can be evident throughout the courses and relevant workbooks the course provides learners with. Quality assurance is also covered through this process, to allow learners to complete their induction workbooks (AWIF or TSD) within the qualification.
In This Programme You Will...
The programme includes 8 units which include:

Understand how to meet the needs of the growing and developing child.

Be able to create a SAfE Parenting Environment.

Look deeper into safe parenting - Looking after ourselves.

Explore the role of the professional therapeutic foster parent.
Programme Length
Online: Total of 90 hours of study, over 6- 12 month period.
Blended learning option also optional.
We aim to provide a learning experience which gives learners access to high quality learning resources, encouraging engagement in areas
relative to therapeutic parenting and the course such finance, health and wellbeing.
Please note: The qualifications are predominantly studied online through a learning platform, it is a prerequisite for applicants to be ICT/computer literate.
