Level 3 ADVANCED THERAPEUTIC

Programme (Diploma)

The Level 3 Advanced Therapeutic Parenting Programme is an unregulated qualification which is accredited with the Awarding Body NCFE.

It is aimed at parents who are caring for children who have experienced developmental trauma. It is also aimed at supporting professionals who are working with families in order to support them and can be used as evidence for Continual Professional Development. (CPD).

In COURSE You Will...

  • Give learners a comprehensive overview of how children become traumatised, the effects on the child, and the resulting behaviours.
     

  • Enable learners to understand the importance of using therapeutic parenting techniques with children who have experienced early childhood trauma.
     

  • Identify reasons why children with attachment difficulties provoke strong responses in the Therapeutic Parent.
     

  • Enable Therapeutic Parents to recognise their own responses to children with attachment difficulties.
     

  • Assist Therapeutic Parents in recognising and managing compassion fatigue/ blocked care.
     

  • Provide Therapeutic Parents with the skills and knowledge to avoid feeling disempowered and therefore lessen the impact of blocked care (compassion fatigue). 
     

  • Provide supporting professionals and mentoring carers with the skills and knowledge to identify manage and support others in blocked care (optional unit).
     

  • Equip Therapeutic Parents with the skills and knowledge to begin to work therapeutically with children with attachment difficulties. 
     

  • Enable Therapeutic Parents to apply practical therapeutic parenting behaviour management strategies, when working with children who have suffered early life trauma.
     

  • Enable Therapeutic parents and supporting professionals to identify therapeutic parenting models and apply the P.A.C.E model. 
     

  • Equip Therapeutic parents and supporting professionals with the tools to solve complex relationship issues between professionals and carers caring for traumatised children.

Accredited by NCFE

Our course has been accredited by NCFE, an awarding organisation recognised by the qualification regulators for England and Wales. NCFE’s regulators are the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) in England and the Welsh Government in Wales. This course isn’t regulated by Ofqual but has been accredited by NCFE as a Customised Award.

This course has been accredited as a Customised Qualification and we have benchmarked the course’s learning outcomes at Level 3 (using a notional framework’s level descriptors) to allow you to consider the difficulty and depth of study.

Customised Award certification from NCFE:

On completion of this Customised Qualification, learners will receive a certificate of achievement from NCFE. This certificate of achievement is not for a nationally regulated qualification.
