This is the introduction to parenting you will need.
Who is the First Steps in Parenting for?
This programme is for all parents and parents to be (adopters, foster parents, birth parents and step parents) who are looking to gain more information on welcoming their children home for the first time and preparing for life as a parent using Therapeutic Parenting approach.
Programme Benefits

In this programme you will study 4 units which are benchmarked at level 1.
You will gain information on the following:
An introduction to parenting.
Information on strategies which support parents to build secure attachments with their child.
Strategies on welcoming their child home for the first time, and meeting their basic care needs.
Information on the important of parental wellbeing and strategies on how to include these in daily life, in order to prevent compassion fatigue.
On completion you will receive a certificate of recognition from Fostering Attachments Ltd which is part of the Centre or Excellence in Child Trauma.
Length of course

The course is based on 6-8 hours of study hours which combines online learning with webinars.
